First Look

Lenses 70-200mm

-Focused on the bride during the first look.

-Be far back at the start of the first look to capture the bride walking up to the groom.

-Then zoom in to get tight shots of the bride interacting with the groom.

-Watching what angle I'm shooting from and I try to shoot at different angles.

Groomsmen Portraits

Lens 50mm

-Start with individuals (the groom with each individual groomsman). Tell them to get close and put there arms around each other. Tell them to unbutton their jacket and put the outside hand in their pocket. Take horizontal and vertical of all of these.

-Start with a formal pose for group shots, hands clasped: left over right,

jacket buttoned, smiling at the camera.

-Then we get a little more relaxed with jackets unbuttoned, hands in pockets smiling at the camera.

-We do a group “bro” hug which sometimes goes to far! ha!

-Then we do a walking shot and any other creative shots utilizing the venue.

CEremony

Lenses 50mm, 24mm, 70-200mm

-Start at the back and capture the bride and her father entering and then get a shot of them from behind as they walk down the aisle.

- Then switch to the 70-200 to get the giving away of the father of the bride to the groom from the back of the aisle.

-Switch to the 24mm to get a large ceremony shot from the back.

-Switch back to the 70-200 and move to the right side of the ceremony to focus on the brides face, especially during the vows.

-Stay on the right side until the first kiss and then move back and switch to the 50mm to capture the recessional.

Bridal party

Lenses 50mm and 100mm

-Shoot wide bridal party shots at the same time as me just as a back up option. (We always tell the bridal party to always look at my camera and that you are secondary)

-Use the 100mm to shoot detail shots while I shoot larger shots of the bridal party. Focus mostly focusing on the girl’s flowers from a side angle.

Family Formals

Do not shoot family formals. Holding our family formal checklist from the bride and call out family member’s names and organize all group shots. Help set the shots up and I will snaps the photo!
